The Isolation Show

Written by on 14. Januar 2021

What does student life look like in times of corona? Find out in the Isolation Show – a program which started as an in-person project, but then took a different turn. Two hours of reportages and music produced and presented by (exchange-)students of FH WKW.

“What’s it like to produce a radio show” is what a group of eight national and international students of FH WKW wanted to learn this semester, and yes, we did. But we also learned how to produce a show and organize in remote mode due to quarantine.

Student life and the New Normal

In the first hour of our program, presenters Katharina and Anna will introduce the listeners to the various ways the coronavirus has changed student life. We will hear about how you can actually have a positive Erasmus experience despite a global pandemic. We’ll find out what’s it like to get Covid in Austria when you don’t speak German. We will also hear about the situation of travel agencies, how they are affected by the pandemic and how young dancers stay hopeful to find a job at a dance company in spite of uncertain times.

Blocking, Wildlife, Skating and Superfandom

There’s more to student life than corona, of course: In hour two of the Isolation Show, hosts Mona and Celia will introduce reportages about blocking on social media, Viennese wildlife and city development. They will also introduce us to reportages about people from all over the world: How can you make a living as a professional skater and what’s it like to be a superfan of Ariana Grande
